Founded in early 2023 in Nice, the start-up INNOV&SEA offers professionals, particularly in the cosmetics industry, to assess the impact of a raw material or a finished product on the marine biotic environment, without harming marine biodiversity. Based on an innovative in vitro technology, the analysis process has been developed on cell cultures of the sea anemone Anemonia viridis, a marine invertebrate of the reef-building coral family.
INNOV&SEA thus provides companies with an eco-responsible approach with a new sustainable and efficient solution to evaluate and minimize the impact of their products on the marine ecosystem. This test is already used by several cosmetic brands as well as producers of cosmetic ingredients, constituting a major innovation in the suncare products sector.
