ToumAI is a monitoring and reporting tool that supports companies and asset managers in assessing the sustainability risks and impacts of their operations in Africa.
Through natural language processing algorithms (AI/NLP), ToumAI produces and processes large and exclusive African datasets mostly available in local languages (sourced online and offline), unlocking insights such as local sentiment, sustainability related trends or potential controversies.
Combined with third-party alternative data (e.g carbon emissions), ToumAI crafts more realistic sustainability indexes/ratings adapted to the African context.
From this data and the indexes/ratings, the tool automatically generates sustainability reports meeting evolving multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements. Sustainability reporting is swiftly becoming mandatory for both global companies and investment funds, both of whom may be exposed to, and therefore may have to report on, African sustainability risks and impacts.
ToumAI aims at promoting real, granular measurements of risks and impacts in Africa, thereby combating greenwashing using adequate local data and transparent assessment methodologies.
